One of my goals for 2021 was to create a Design Retainer Service for clients who needed on-going design support for their business, but weren’t’ ready to hire a full time employee yet. I realized that I never really shared too much about this service and decided a blog post was in order.
What exactly is a Design Retainer Service?
My design retainer program is just like having a professional designer in your back pocket whenever you need it - within business hours of course. Monthly retainer clients gain brand consistency, peace of mind and of course job priority for your monthly marketing needs.
How does the Design Retainer Service work?
I think the easiest way to think of it is as a monthly subscription service to my design services. You pay upfront at the beginning of each month in order to reserve a specific number of hours on my design schedule. This works great for social media graphics, small website updates, marketing materials and the like. It allows you to receive professionally designed materials without the fluctuating fees or deadline constraints.
What’s included in the monthly packages
My packages range in hours from 5 per month all the way up to 30 per month - and include a few other extras too, like discounts, priority service and phone calls. As for the types of design items, included, here is a list:
Print Materials – sales sheets, direct mailers, brochures, business cards, stationery, signage, etc.
Digital Materials – email templates, blog banners and other web graphics/updates.
Web Updates and Maintenance - content, graphics and website maintenance. Currently for Squarespace only.
Social Media Design – Instagram post or story templates, Pinterest graphics, Facebook advertisements, etc.
Additional Services - if you don’t see a service above, please feel free to make a request to see if it would fall under the program.
